Q: Whom should I contact to discuss a particular cross domain-related requirement that I have?

A: Cross Domain Support Elements (CDSEs) have been established throughout the DoD and IC to serve as initial points of contact for providing assistance with cross domain-related requirements, determining the availability of existing cross domain solutions/services, etc.

Q: Where may I obtain contact information for my respective CDSE?

Q: What is the “Capabilities Portfolio”?

A: The Capabilities Portfolio contains information on all known cross domain (and cross domain-related) technologies and solutions.

Q: What is the primary purpose of the “Capabilities Portfolio”?

A: The Capabilities Portfolio is maintained by the UCDMO and is intended to be used by government system engineers, architects, and others to support cross domain information sharing and access requirements.

Q: How is the Capabilities Portfolio organized?

A: The Capabilities Portfolio is comprised of a number CD solution lists. The “Baseline List”, “Sunset List”, and “Research and Development List” are three of the portfolio’s primary lists.

Q: How does each of these lists differ?

A: The Baseline List includes those CD solutions that have been evaluated against a set of UCDMO-defined security-related criteria and have received endorsement for re-use in prescribed configurations. The Sunset List includes those CD solutions that are no longer available for deployment. The Research and Development List includes those CD solutions that are currently in various stages of development and have yet to be certified for the Baseline List.
